MS Awareness Month

YMCA of Greater Des Moines — Fri, 26 Feb 2010

March is MS Awareness Month. Those who have been diagnosed with MS can try our facilities and programs out for free this month. Stop at our Member Service Desk to pick up you free one-week pass. Activities will include Depression/Fatigue/Memory Workshops, Adaptive Tai Chi, Discovery Therapy, Music Therapy and a Meet and Greet with the staff and friends from the National MS Society.

New Year's Hours

YMCA of Greater Des Moines — Wed, 30 Dec 2009

We will be open until 3:00 pm on New Year's Eve and from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm on New Year's Day. Child Watch is open from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm on New Year's Eve and from 9:00 to noon on New Year's Day. We will hold regular classes while open on New Year's Eve and there will be a special line up of classes on New Year's Day including Cycling at 10:00 and noon, Y-Pump at 10:30, Kickboxing at 1:00 and Yoga at 2:00. Have a happy and safe holiday!

Holiday Hours

YMCA of Greater Des Moines — Wed, 23 Dec 2009

The YMCA will be closing at 3:00 pm on Thursday, December 24th and will be closed all day on Friday, December 25th. We will have regular hours through the weekend. We will close at 3:00 pm on Thursday December 31st and will be open from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm on Friday, January 1st.

The YMCA Healthy Living Center is closed for the day. This includes all programs, services and meetings. We will re-open on Thursday at 5:00 am.

Weather Related Cancellations

YMCA of Greater Des Moines — Tue, 08 Dec 2009

All youth and registration-based classes will be cancelled for today, Tuesday, December 8th. This includes but is not limited to: Healthy Aging, Child Birth Education, Lymphedema Aquatic Education, and Youth in Motion. Group Exercise classes will be held as staff are available. A decision on the status of our facility will be made at 3:30 pm.
