Men's Fraternity

The YMCA of Greater Des Moines maintains that to build strong kids, strong families, and strong communities in Central Iowa, it must cultivate strong, dedicated men who understand their significance in their marriages and families. That is why Men’s Fraternity is coming to several YMCA branches this fall. Imagine the transforming power of men coming together within the community to honestly examine their lives and take the courageous steps necessary to embrace authentic manhood on a journey to become who God intends them to be. That is the goal of Men's Fraternity.

Men’s Fraternity will be offering two different studies this fall:

The Quest for Authentic Manhood – A captivating journey comprised of 24 sessions, this series helps men understand their identity and shows them how to make the pursuit of authentic manhood a lifelong priority. Do you know what it means to be an authentic man? Are you allowing society (or others) to define your manhood? Join other men who desire to learn and develop better leadership skills at home, church, work and in the community. “The Quest” will be offered at 3 YMCA locations: The YMCA Healthy Living Center in Clive, The Riverfront YMCA, and The South Suburban YMCA. The first session begins Wednesday, September 22nd from 6:00am – 7:30am. Cost for this study is only $20 for all sessions.

Winning At Work And At Home – This 16-session study focuses on the two areas that are central to a man’s happiness; his career and his family. Are you winning at one but losing at the other? Find out how-session to win at both. Winning at Work and at Home will be offered at 2 locations: The Nevelin Center in Ankeny beginning Wednesday September 22nd, and, at the YMCA Healthy Living Center beginning Thursday, September 23rd. Each session is from 6:00am – 7:30am.   Cost for this study is only $20 for all sessions.

If you’re a YMCA member, register on-line for either study at https://register.dmymca.org/online/browse.php  or, at the sponsoring YMCA branch location of your choice. For questions, or if not a YMCA member, contact David Harper, YMCA Chaplain of Greater Des Moines at 515-564-6579.

Or, mark your calendars and join us for our Fall Kick-Off Meeting to be held on Wednesday, September 15th from 6:30PM to 8:00PM at the Windsor Heights Community Center located at 6900 School Street in Colby Park. This is a casual come-as-you-are event that will provide food and fun for all men interested in learning more about Men’s Fraternity. Join us!
